During a whole week, from 24 to 28 April 2017, Supporting LIFE met stakeholders of the Malawi Ministry of Health, strategic partners and potential donors to assess project results and discuss ways forward. The programme of this week included a mHealth Strategy Workshop (1 day) and several face-to-face meetings.
The mHealth Strategy Meeting alone was attended by around 50 representatives of the Malawi government (e.g. from Primary Health Care Unit & ICT unit), other potential partners for implementation projects (e.g. D-Tree & VillageReach) and potential funders/donors (e.g. USAID). Given the very positive feedback from these stakeholders, the Supporting LIFE project is confident to have a sustainable impact on the health system in Malawi and other low and middle income countries.
Project partners, in particular Luke International, are now following up on the plans discussed during this fruitful week of meetings. In addition, two grant applications for related research projects, building on the project's results, have been submitted.
