What difference does it make if HSAs use the Supporting LIFE app instead of paper-based CCM? As of next week, first data will be available to answer this question.
As planned, around 100 HSAs are currently participating in the field trials of the Supporting LIFE app. They have all finished their training and are now being visited by around 30 data collectors who pick up data regarding their use of paper-based CCM.
Next week, the first group of HSAs will start using the app. Data collectors will continue visiting HSAs and will also follow up with parents/caregivers, health centres, and hospitals to collect information on referrals and attendances to higher level health facilities.
Although the full analysis and interpretation of data will take time, preliminary results are expected to be available by February 2017 and will be presented to stakeholders in Malawi.
